Leonel Joaquin "Leo" Vargas has quickly become one of the most recognized voices in the Hispanic radio industry. Born in Orlando, Florida to Costa Rican parents, his youthful and powerful voice started being heard in promotional videos for his church's annual fall festival before also being heard in promos for other events in the Orlando area. Vargas also worked as a disc jockey at a local skating rink during this time.

 

Vargas began his radio career while in college at WONQ "La Grande" 1030 AM, Orlando's very first and longest-running Spanish-language radio station. Following a brief stint as co-host of programs that aired on WPRD "La Voz" 1440 AM, Vargas became one of the promotional announcers and social media manager for WMQV "La Primera" 102.3 FM, where he also hosted his own "Top 10 Hits" music show.

Vargas officially crossed over to the English-language radio market in 2022 when he became a news reporter for WDBO 107.3 FM/580 AM in Orlando, while also voicing commercials for its Spanish-language sister station, WOEX "Exitos" 96.5 FM.

 

With a degree in Digital Media from the University of Central Florida, Vargas is also a drummer and percussionist. He also enjoys singing, fitness, and martial arts. Today, his voice continues to be used in projects for radio, television, and other audio-visual needs in both English and Spanish.

Leonel Joaquin "Leo" Vargas se ha convertido rapidamente en una de las voces mas reconocidas en la industria radial Hispana. Nacido en Orlando, Florida de padres Costarricenses, su voz juvenil y poderosa comenzo a ser escuchada en videos promocionales para el festival anual de otoño en su iglesia y luego tambien en promocionales para otros eventos en el area de Orlando. Vargas tambien laboraba como disc jockey en un salon de patinar durante este tiempo.

Vargas comenzo su carrera radial durante sus estudios universitarios en WONQ "La Grande" 1030 AM, la primera emisora Hispana con mas trayectoria en Orlando. Despues de un tiempo colaborando en programas transmitidos por WPRD "La Voz" 1440 AM, Vargas se convirtio en uno de los locutores comerciales para WMQV "La Primera" 102.3 FM, donde tambien se encargaba de las redes sociales de la emisora y conducia su programa musical "Top 10 Hits".

Vargas oficialmente cruzo al mercado radial en Ingles en 2022 tras convertirse en reportero de noticias para WDBO 107.3 FM/580 AM en Orlando, donde tambien labora como locutor comercial para la estacion hermana Hispana WOEX "Exitos" 96.5 FM.

Ademas de tener un titulo en Medios Digitales de University of Central Florida, Vargas tambien es baterista y percusionista. Tambien le gusta cantar, fitness, y artes marciales. Hoy en dia, sus servicios siguen siendo solocitados para radio, television, y otros proyectos audio-visuales en Ingles y Español.
